Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council has released a free electronic brochure packed with summer activities and events for young people and families across the borough.
The guide, titled 'What's on this summer', is aimed at 0–19-year-olds and can be downloaded from the Borough Council's website. It contains information on sports activities, library reading challenges, and events at locations throughout Hinckley and Bosworth. Most activities are free, with others costing no more than £1.
Snapdragon Festival
One of the highlights of the summer is the council's children's Snapdragon Festival, taking place in Argents Mead, Hinckley from Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 August, 11am to 3pm.
Why Now?
Councillor Robin Webber-Jones, Children and Young People's Champion at the Borough Council, said the guide recognises that many families will enjoy a staycation closer to home this summer. With the cost of living continuing to affect household budgets, the council has compiled the guide to help keep children entertained during the school holidays without significant expense.
Residents are advised to book activities early where possible, as some events and sessions have limited spaces and are likely to fill up quickly. Families should also check with individual venues included in the brochure to see if there are additional activities happening, and to keep up to date with any changes or advance booking requirements.

Bin Collection Update
Due to predicted high temperatures from Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July, residents should present their bin by 6am if that is their collection day.
