Residents and businesses in Hinckley and Bosworth will soon have access to a new banking hub in the town centre, restoring face-to-face banking services following a series of branch closures across the area.
The hub will provide cash services and routine banking transactions. Community bankers from different banks will visit on specific days each week, allowing customers to conduct business with their own bank in person.
Council welcomes return of banking services
Cllr Stuart Bray, Leader of Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, said the council had campaigned to retain access to essential banking services locally.
"This is fantastic news for our residents and businesses," he said. "The new banking hub will make a real difference, particularly for older residents and those who rely on face-to-face banking support. As more bank branches have closed across the country, it has become increasingly important that people can still access these services locally. I welcome the return of all the major banks to the town centre through this hub."
How banking hubs work
Banking hubs are shared banking spaces operated by participating banks. Customers can access cash services and carry out everyday transactions without needing a branch of their own bank on their doorstep.
What happens next
Cash Access UK, which delivers banking hubs across the UK, confirmed that work is progressing on the Hinckley hub. The service will be available to residents before the closure of the last bank in town. Further details about the location and opening dates will be announced in due course.
