Hinckley's Spooktacular Saturday family event returns to the town centre on Saturday 31 October, from 10am until 3pm. The free event will take place at Britannia Shopping Centre and features activities for all ages.
What to expect
Visitors can enjoy pumpkin bowling, a themed stilt walker, creepy crafts and freaky face paint stencils. All children who wear fancy dress will receive a Halloween medal (subject to availability).
Local radio station Fosse 107 will provide a spooky soundtrack throughout the day, featuring Halloween classics including Thriller, Monster Mash, Ghost Busters and Haunted.
Costume competition
Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween fancy dress. A best dressed costume competition with trophies will be judged at 12pm by Cathie Gibbens, Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth. Prizes will be awarded for the creepiest costume on the day.
Halloween Treasure Hunt
Hinckley BID is also running a Halloween Treasure Hunt from 17 to 31 October with prizes on offer. Clue Guides are available from Cineworld, Hinckley Library, Holiday Lounge, or can be downloaded from www.hinckleybid.co.uk
Cllr Mark Bools, Deputy Leader of the Borough Council, said: "With Halloween becoming very much part of the autumn calendar this family-friendly event always proves to be a hit with families and little ones. From pumpkin bowling to face painting, there is something for everyone, the costume competition is always a big hit, and it is always fun to see the Britannia Centre filled with so many creepy costumes and spooky faces. Come along and bring your family – if you dare!"
